Let’s Talk About the 700mm Carbon Infrared Lamp

When we sat down to design this lamp, we had one main goal: create something that packs a serious punch but spreads that heat over a wide area. At 220V and 2500W, this isn’t some small desk lamp. It’s a powerhouse. We used a carbon-fiber heating element tucked inside quartz glass, which gives you a different kind of heat—more of a medium-to-long wave—than what you’d get from a basic halogen tube. Why the length matters Here is the thing about the 700mm size. By spreading 2500W across that length, the heat stays consistent. You don’t have to worry about those annoying “hot spots” that usually pop up in shorter tubes. Plus, since it runs on 220V, it plugs right into most industrial grids. No need to mess around with bulky transformers. It just works. The magic of carbon We went with carbon filaments for a reason. They don’t need to get nearly as hot as tungsten to do their job, but they’re still incredibly efficient. The quartz glass keeps everything sealed and protected. This means you can cycle the heat up and down without worrying about the tube burning out. It feels “softer” on the materials you’re heating, so you don’t have to stress about scorching the surface of your workpiece. A few things to keep in mind Before you wire this up, make sure your reflectors are polished. These lamps need a clean mirror surface to actually push the heat where it needs to go. And a word of caution: 700mm is a long piece of glass. If your mounting brackets are even slightly off, the tube can sag. And if it sags, it can crack.Be precise with your alignment. Also, remember that 2500W is a heavy draw. Make sure your control relays can handle the continuous current, or you’ll end up with welded contacts. This isn’t a “plug and play” lightbulb. You’ll need a dedicated circuit and plenty of ventilation to keep the housing from getting too hot.
