Introduction
We built these medium-wave infrared carbon fiber heat lamps for the kind of heating you actually run into on a plant floor—where you need heat that responds fast, is easy to control, and fits into the space you already have. The 1500W and 1600W ratings aren’t random. They pack a lot of heat into a medium-length tube, so you get serious output without having to redesign the whole heating area.
Power, Wavelength, and Shape—Why It Matters
Here’s the thing about the wavelength: these lamps sit in the medium-wave infrared range, right between short-wave (super fast, super intense) and long-wave (gentler, slower). That sweet spot gives you a practical balance: quick warm-up and strong radiant heat, without the extreme peak temperatures that force you into heavier thermal management. And the power ratings? They’re chosen to deliver repeatable heat into a clear process window—preheating, drying, curing, or localized melting—while staying within the power circuits most plants already use. The medium-length shape also matters. It gives you a longer heating path than a short, stubby lamp, so you can cover wider zones or longer dwell times without stacking a bunch of units.
What’s Inside—Carbon Fiber, Quartz, and Solid Connections
At the heart is a carbon fiber filament inside a quartz envelope. Carbon fiber gives us a resistive element that stays stable even when you drive it hard, and it holds up across repeated heating cycles. The quartz envelope handles high temperature and gives you clean, predictable infrared transmission. Then there are the terminations—built for real industrial use. We use tough end caps and connector compatibility that lets you wire the lamp into what you already have, without re-engineering the mounting hardware. In many standard industrial heater bodies, it drops in as a direct replacement. One practical trade-off: higher power density means faster heating, but it also puts more heat load on nearby parts. So you need a good reflector setup, plus airflow or shielding, to keep control electronics and insulation from cooking.
Where It Shines—And What It Feels Like to Use
Use these lamps when you need fast, controllable radiant heat in a compact footprint—plastics processing, coatings curing, adhesive activation, component drying. The medium-wave output couples well with many organic materials and surfaces, so you get even heating that responds quickly when you adjust the control loop. And the payoff on the floor is straightforward: predictable heat, fast response, and a lamp that can handle repeated on/off cycles without getting fragile. We designed this to run hard, day after day, in production equipment.
