What These Heaters Are Really Built For
We built these infrared carbon halogen heaters for one simple reason: to pack a ton of controllable heat into a small space. So when you see a unit rated at 400V and 2500W, know this: it’s meant for the big leagues—real industrial work, not weekend projects. That power is intense. That’s why the tube is just 300mm long. It keeps the heat focused right where you need it, so you don’t have to rework your whole machine just to fit a bigger heater. And the 400V input? That’s just standard factory power. It keeps the current manageable, which means you can use smaller wiring and avoid voltage drop over longer runs.
The Inside Story: What Makes It Tick
At the core is the quartz envelope holding the carbon filament. Quartz can handle the shock of turning on and off fast without cracking—something cheaper ceramics just can’t do. The halogen gas inside isn’t there for show. It actually pulls the evaporated filament material and puts it back where it belongs. That fights blackening and keeps the heater lasting longer. Then there’s the reflective coating on the tube. It pushes all that infrared energy forward, so you get maximum heat where you want it and not a bunch of wasted heat behind it. And installing it? The R7s connector just clicks right into standard sockets. It locks in tight and stays put, even when things are shaking.
How It Performs When the Pressure’s On
This setup is the go-to workhorse for jobs that need fast, focused heat—like PET bottle blowing or thermoforming. The carbon filament throws out a broad spectrum of infrared that gets right into the plastic, heating it evenly and fast. That means shorter cycle times. Plus, it’s compact enough to swap right in for older units. No need to overhaul your setup just to upgrade. But here’s the thing: that 2500W output throws off serious localized heat. So the surrounding equipment has to be ready for it. Shield it. Cool it. If you run this heater full blast without proper airflow or heat management, you’re asking for trouble—nearby sensors and wiring won’t last long. These heaters are built to take the heat. But the rest of your system needs to be ready to handle it, too.
